The Inn is an easy walk from Pittsburgh’s North Shore, which has been called “the most scenic urban vista in the country”. The area includes Heinz Field, PNC Park, The Andy Warhol Museum, and the Mattress Factory.

Built by Russell Boggs, owner of Pittsburgh’s famous department store “Boggs and Buhl”, partner of then and now Dollar Bank and builder of railroads, this 9000 sq. foot mansion was constructed in 1888 at a cost of $80,000.

Built to be his small castle, the mansion has many beautiful features, the entrance hall boasts a floor to ceiling blood marble fireplace from Europe, and grand curved staircase ascending to a second floor lobby. Each of the 8 guest rooms have private bathrooms and are furnished with modern day amenities. Three of the guest rooms are suites with small kitchens.

The first floor boasts a library bar, main dining room, front parlor, entrance hall, rear staircase, plus several other rooms. The house overlooks Lake Elizabeth, West Park, and the beautiful skyline of Pittsburgh.

The Carriage House, with soaring priceless American Chestnut ceiling, comes complete with a full commercial kitchen that any chef would be proud to work in. The space has seating for 48 guests, and comes with a transferrable liquor license, fine china, silverware, crystal and our signature knife cradles made just for Acanthus Restaurant, voted Best of Pittsburgh. Currently the Carriage House 2nd floor is the owners apartment.
